The Size 100, 900:1 dual gear reduction cast iron gearbox and a brushless DC motor equivalent to a 2.5 HP AC motor handle the added load, while a 30 Amp toroid power supply provides the headroom required for this application. UL 325/991 compliant for Class I through Class IV, covering residential through guarded industrial applications, the Tank operates in temperatures from -4°F to 158°F (-20°C to +70°C) without a heater, including battery performance.

The 3.25 in solid steel output shaft is held by a cast iron clamping system that slips under vehicle impact without a shear pin, protecting the operator and preserving limit switch positions. The brushless DC motor uses Hall Effect magnetic sensing to track over 5,000 rotational positions across 90 degrees of gate travel, feeding adaptive DSP-controlled ramp-up and ramp-down with instant stop and no overcoasting.
