Linear Actuator Swing Gate Operator for Residential and Light Commercial Installations

The Maximum Controls MAX Ultra Arm is a heavy-duty 24V DC linear actuator swing gate operator designed for residential and light commercial applications. Made in the USA, the actuator uses a direct gear drive with a 2 in tubular stainless steel output shaft, built-in mechanical limit switches, and a powder coated aluminum housing. Stroke extends from a minimum of 39.1 in to a maximum of 60.3 in. Gate capacity scales with leaf length: 1,600 lbs at 8 ft, 1,200 lbs at 12 ft, 800 lbs at 16 ft, and 600 lbs at 18 ft. Both push-open and pull-open installation orientations are supported. The operator is UL 325/991 Class I, II, III, and IV compliant, meets the UL 2018 standard, and is ETL listed and CSA approved.

The built-in two limit switch system uses adjustable mechanical limit switches and independent slow-down switches to control gate position and deceleration at both the open and close endpoints. DSP motor control with adaptive obstruction sensing and intelligent ramp-up and ramp-down governs gate movement, with two independently adjustable closing speed controls at 16 positions each, enabling asymmetric closing synchronization for bi-parting installations where gate leaves open to different angles. Mechanical and electrical gate release functions are built in, with key-activated manual release for power failure scenarios. Conclusion

The MAX Ultra Arm is sold as a standalone actuator. The MAX AC Control Box is required for operation and is available separately. For bi-parting installations, a second MAX Ultra Arm actuator and the MAX 40 ft. Cable are required for secondary communication. Adjust limit switch positions after installation and cycle the gate open and closed several times to confirm positioning before finalizing the limit and slow-down settings. The optional Max Cloud App is not compatible with the Phantom F6 or 2000 Plus models. Warranty coverage applies only to products purchased through authorized distributors.
