The Linear BT135-W integrates seamlessly into access control systems using the Wiegand protocol, transmitting credential data to the access control panel for validation. It supports two types of credentials:

Mobile Credentials via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)

• User Registration: Users download the Linear Access Control Mobile App and register their mobile credentials using a QR code or manual key entry.
• Adjustable Range: BLE allows configurable access ranges, from close proximity (Tap and Go) to long-range detection (up to 30 feet).
• Access Process: The smartphone communicates with the reader via BLE; the reader transmits the credential data to the access control panel through the Wiegand interface for access approval.

Physical Smart Credentials

• Supported Credentials: Compatible with Linear 13.56 MHz smart cards and fobs, which offer enhanced security through 128-bit AES encryption.
• Access Process: Users present their smart credential within the reader’s range (up to 3 inches). The reader captures the encrypted data and sends it to the access control panel via the Wiegand protocol for validation.

The access control panel evaluates the received credential data and determines whether to grant or deny access, ensuring secure and efficient entry management.
