Question asked: I am looking at purchasing a gate opener. My gate is 12' long and about 200 lbs. would the LA400UL operator be ideal for my gate size. I would like a speedy gate opener yet durable and long lasting. I am also wondering if I would need to run this system with batteries even if I buy the AC power supply? It seems like alot of these openers run off Dc current and just use the AC power to charge the batteries, is that the case with this one?

It will cover the threshold on your gate, yes. You will either use 110v power or a solar kit to keep it charged.

Question asked: I purchased two of the LA400DCS gate openers only installed one at this time. The opener seams to move way to fast when opening and closing. What can I do to slow it down?

Hello Jerry. Per UL guidelines, the gate operator has to open at a certain speed and cannot be adjusted. Only industrial gate openers can have a speed adjustment.
