Commercial Door Edge Interface for LiftMaster Logic Operators

The LiftMaster CPS-EI Sensing Edge Interface is a Commercial Protector System edge interface for compatible LiftMaster commercial door operators using 4-wire monitored sensing edges. It connects the monitored sensing edge to the operator’s LMEP safety input so the door can detect an obstruction at the edge and reverse during the closing cycle.

This interface is intended for LiftMaster Logic commercial door operator applications, including compatible standard-duty, medium-duty, industrial-duty, and fire door operator systems when specified by LiftMaster. It is not a gate operator safety device and should not be used as a substitute for gate photo eyes, gate edges, or other UL 325 gate entrapment protection devices.

When properly installed, the CPS-EI monitors the connected 4-wire sensing edge. If an obstruction activates the sensing edge while the door is closing, the operator stops and reverses the door to the fully open position. The built-in green LED helps confirm whether the interface and sensing edge are connected and not activated.

LiftMaster notes that the CPS-EI is a stand-alone reversing system and is not intended to be used in conjunction with additional entrapment protection devices. A junction box, not included, is recommended to protect exposed wiring between the door sensing edge and the interface.
