The LiftMaster CAP4EXPND Smart Access Expansion Board is an I/O expansion module for LiftMaster myQ Community access control systems. It is used with the LiftMaster Smart Access Controller Panel CAPXAP and its control board, CAPXAP-CNTL, to add additional access point control inside the panel. It also serves as the service replacement expansion board for the LiftMaster CAP4AP Smart Access Controller.

Each CAP4EXPND board provides four relays, four supervised inputs, and two Wiegand inputs. This allows the connected controller system to manage additional gates, doors, readers, request-to-exit devices, door or gate status inputs, Knox Box inputs, supervised gate operator inputs, and fire alarm interface functions depending on the system configuration.

For gate and door access control, the relays can be used for gate operators, door strikes, maglocks, alarm shunts, lighting control circuits, and other low-voltage control functions. The supervised inputs can be configured for REX, free-exit loop detectors, door sensors, proximity sensors, Knox Box input, fire alarm interface, or supervised gate operator status. Wiegand inputs support compatible proximity readers, keypads, and RFID devices when configured through the LiftMaster access control platform.

The CAP4EXPND is intended for professional access control installations and service work. It does not provide network connectivity, cloud management, PoE, Wi-Fi, or standalone access control by itself. Those functions are handled by the compatible LiftMaster control board and myQ Community system.
