Installation Considerations

The FAAC 400's published gate capacity assumes a strong, rigid gate with properly functioning hinges and smooth, level movement throughout its travel. Gate design, wind load, mounting geometry, temperature, and the condition of the gate can affect actual operating performance.

Positive mechanical stops are required at the fully open and fully closed positions. Although the 400 CBAC hydraulically locks the gate in both directions, FAAC recommends an electric or magnetic lock for gate leaves longer than 12 feet.

The included 455D control system requires a monitored closing safety device for operation. Additional entrapment protection may be required depending on the gate layout and installation.
