Description
Description
Vehicle Loop Detection with Real-Time Signal and Fault Diagnostics
The All-O-Matic PRIME VD2 is a plug-in vehicle loop detector designed specifically for the All-O-Matic LPR-2 loop detector rack. Each detector monitors one properly installed in-ground inductive loop and provides the gate operator with a configurable solid-state output for Exit/Free-Exit, Phantom, or Safety/Reverse operation.
The PRIME VD2 gives installers more information than a basic loop detector. Its six-element LED bar graph displays loop signal strength in real time, while the seven-segment display shows settings, operating status, and diagnostic codes. Sensitivity can be adjusted while a vehicle is positioned over the loop, and the operating frequency can be changed to help prevent interference between detectors installed in the same rack.
Open-loop and shorted-loop fault codes help identify damaged, disconnected, or shorted loop wiring without relying on trial-and-error component replacement. The detector plugs directly into the LPR-2 rack and operates on 12 to 24 VDC power. This listing includes one PRIME VD2 detector module only. The LPR-2 rack and field-installed vehicle loop are sold separately.

Conclusion
One PRIME VD2 detector is required for each active loop connected through the LPR-2 rack. A gate system using Exit, Phantom, and Safety loops can require three separate detector modules. When multiple detectors are installed in the same rack, each should be set to a different operating frequency to help prevent interference. Proper loop installation and sound field wiring are required for accurate vehicle detection and fault-free operation.
