The FAAC 400 CBAC Standard Dual Swing Gate Operator Kit is a complete hydraulic automation package for dual-leaf or bi-parting vehicular swing gates. Available in 115 VAC or 230 VAC, the system combines two FAAC 400 CBAC hydraulic operators with a matching 455D control panel, prewired fiberglass enclosure, radio controls, and monitored photoeyes.

Each 400 CBAC operator is designed for gate leaves up to 16 feet long and 1,300 pounds, making the dual configuration suitable for large residential estates, condominium entrances, commercial properties, and other controlled-access locations with larger or more frequently operated swing gates.

The FAAC 400 uses an electric pump and hydraulic piston to move each gate leaf with smooth, controlled force. The CBAC version provides hydraulic locking in both the open and closed positions, helping hold both leaves securely when the operators are not running. Each operator also includes a key-protected manual release for manually moving the gate during a power failure or service condition.

Installation Considerations

The published gate capacity applies to each individual gate leaf and assumes strong, rigid gate construction, properly functioning hinges, and smooth, level movement throughout the full travel of each leaf. Gate design, wind load, mounting geometry, temperature, and overall gate condition can affect actual performance.

Positive mechanical stops are required at the fully open and fully closed positions. Although the 400 CBAC hydraulically locks each gate leaf in both directions, FAAC recommends an electric or magnetic lock for gate leaves longer than 12 feet.

For gates with overlapping leaves, the 455D control panel can be programmed with opening and closing delays so the two leaves operate in the proper sequence.

The 455D control system requires a monitored closing safety device for operation. Additional entrapment protection may be required depending on the gate layout and installation.
