Hi there and thank you for the question1 :) The downfall with reflective based photocells is that the reflector will catch moisture or if it's raining or snowing then then moisture will cover the eye and/or reflector causing it to remain open. A double photocell eye may work a bit better but you will need power on both sides and not just 1 as most people tend to have.
