The LiftMaster LA500UL, also sold as the LA500PKGUL, is a complete dual arm 24V DC continuous-duty linear actuator kit built for residential and light commercial bi-parting swing gate applications across UL 325 Class I through IV. The kit includes both the primary arm with standard control box and the LA500DCS secondary arm with all hardware for a complete bi-parting installation. The commercial-duty cast aluminum housing and precision-machined all-metal wormgear drive handle up to 1,600 lbs at 8 ft, with capacity adjusting by gate length: 1,200 lbs at 12 ft, 800 lbs at 16 ft, and 600 lbs at 18 ft per the manufacturer capacity chart. Each actuator completes a 90° arc in 15 to 17 seconds and is rated for up to 300 cycles per day. Smooth start and stop operation reduces mechanical stress on gate hardware over the operator's service life. The standard control box includes two 12V 7AH batteries for standby power during outages, and the solar-ready design supports off-grid and solar-supplemented installations. Surge suppression provides lightning protection against strikes up to 50 ft away.

The LA500UL includes the Security+ 2.0 on-board radio receiver with rolling code technology, compatible with up to 50 remote controls (unlimited with model 811LMX or 813LMX). myQ technology enables remote monitoring and gate control from anywhere via cellular or Wi-Fi connection. Wireless dual-gate communication for bi-parting configurations eliminates driveway trenching but requires a second control box. The operator is Fire Department compliant, opening automatically upon loss of AC power or battery depletion. Anti-tailgate and quick close capabilities, a pre-motion warning alarm, and a manual disconnect are included. HomeLink version 4 and higher is supported.
