The Maximum Controls MAX Super Arm 1300 is a heavy-duty residential linear actuator swing gate operator driven by a 24V DC motor and controlled by the DSP Arm Controller. The actuator, manufactured in Germany, uses a direct gear drive with a 1-1/4 in stainless steel output shaft and no internal chains, belts, or pulleys. Gate capacity varies by leaf length: 1,300 lbs at 8 ft, 800 lbs at 10 ft, and 600 lbs at 12 ft. The actuator stroke extends from a minimum of 37 in to a maximum of 54.75 in and supports both push-open and pull-open installation configurations. The operator is UL 325/991 Class I, II, III, and IV compliant, meets the UL 2018 standard, and is ETL listed and CSA approved.

A patented brake and clutch system is central to the Super Arm 1300's design. When the force on the actuator exceeds 2 tons, such as from a vehicle strike while the gate is in motion, the clutch releases and automatically resets, protecting the actuator from collision damage. Security features include a Tamper Alert relay that triggers when the gate is forced open, a Gate Disable function that blocks all standard open commands except Fire Department and Max Open inputs, advanced anti-tailgate detection, and magnetic lock relay outputs with selectable delay times. The AC Control Box, assembled in the USA, houses the DSP Arm Controller, two 12V 7Ah AGM batteries, a 10A power supply with two 115VAC accessory outlets, a loop rack, LCD display, jog key switch, and UL reset button in a gold zinc plated and powder-coated steel enclosure. The two included batteries deliver approximately 500 cycles in the event of power loss across three selectable backup modes. Lightning protection covers all 35 input, output, and communication channels at up to 20,000V and 10,000A, guaranteed to withstand any strike more than 50 feet away.
