The Maximum Controls Max Rhino 4000 FS is a fail-safe, high-traffic industrial brushless DC slide gate operator built for demanding commercial and industrial applications requiring maximum gate weight capacity. It handles gates up to 4,000 lbs and 50 ft with independent open and close speed control adjustable from 10 to 19 inches per second, rated UL 325/991 Class III and IV. As with all Maximum Controls fail-safe operators, the gate is back-drivable upon loss of both AC power and battery: a local switch, keypad, or any dry contact relay releases the dynamic braking system for emergency push-back. In closed position, that same brake resists forced entry and triggers an audible alarm with relay output if unauthorized push-back is attempted.

The direct drive Size 70 gearbox operates in an oil bath with no belts, chains, or pulleys, producing torque equivalent to a 2 1/2 HP AC motor. The Matrix III Advanced Controller logs 8,000 events to non-volatile memory with LCD display for on-site error review. Two included Yuasa AGM 12V batteries provide approximately 40 backup cycles upon AC loss, and the 24V DC solar input supports off-grid and solar-supplemented installations.
